Teams looking for a game are encouraged to post details here.

We suggest you make the subject eg "06 Feb 16 - Club IIIs - home or away" to make it easier for other clubs to identify a possible fixture.  Please update the tread once a game has been agreed.

Talk Rugby / Drifters awarded RFU Accredited Club status
« Last Post by Admin on 11 March 2013 10:09:36 AM »
Congratulations to Drifters on their award

From the club website.

Drifters Rugby Football Club are proud to receive the RFU Accredited Club award as a measure of our continued progress to enjoy and deliver a great rugby experience to adults and children alike. The award will be presented by Chris McCombie, Chairman of the Buckinghamshire RFU, to Geoff Hewes, President of Drifters RFC, on Saturday 16th February.

Drifters have held the RFU Minis & Juniors Award for several years, with many of the players now playing 1st, 2nd and 3rd team senior rugby at the Farnham Common club after starting their playing careers in the mini and nunior sections. All sections will be represented at the presentation.

The club continues to progress on and off the pitch as we work the key drivers of the scheme to help achieve a coordinated plan. The 3rd team is now firmly established, our Driftlets section is now underway and some of our senior players are now coaching at Driftlets and mini levels.

The RFU Accredited Club status recognises the effort and achievement of volunteers in reaching the standard required in the development of rugby across the whole club, and to plan for the long term sustainability of the club and the sport of rugby union.

Clubs are assessed by the RFU and must demonstrate good practice in all six key drivers below:

Retaining and developing players
Recruiting new players
Recruiting and retaining high quality coaches, volunteers and referees
Effective and efficient facilities
Effective and efficient management and governance, including equity and child protection policies
Integration with the local community

Each of these Key Drivers, together with the core values of the game, is represented within the Club Accreditation scheme. Together, they represent the component parts of a strong, sustainable club.

RFU Rugby Development Officer Tim Holmes said: "Drifters RFC not only provides a fantastic experience to senior and junior teams made up of players from the local community, they also have superb facilities which they have developed over the past few years and are constantly looking to grow the club in all areas."
